Coronation Street Premiere - Out of Africa

Your Events organised the sensational world premiere of the Coronation Street DVD - Out of Africa this week at the Printworks in Manchester.

The zebra-print carpet entrance was bustling with glamorous celebrities as they arrived for the preview of the film.

Along with many of the cast from Corrie, showbiz types in attendance included TV presenter Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen, this years Big Brother winner Rachel and runner-up Mikey, former BB contestants Chanelle Hayes and Vanessa Feltz, TV style guru Nicky Hambleton-Jones, Dave Spikey, ex-Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy, Les Dennis, the cast of Britannia High, former reality show contestants Bianca Gascoigne and Chantelle and uber-cool Manchester indie band Teamnoir.

The last to arrive were the stars of the DVD – Fizz, Kurt, Cilla and Chesney.

Once inside the Odeon, a drinks reception awaited the 700 guests before they packed out six of the screens in the cinema.

Following the screening, everyone had to strut their stuff on the zebra-print carpet again as they were snapped and interviewed by the many TV and newspaper journalists including GMTV’s Richard Arnold. This time African drummers and dancers performed along with fascinating zebra and giraffe stilt walkers and fire-eaters, building the suspense as guests made their way over to the African Themed party at Tiger Tiger.

The venue was transformed into a lavish African experience themed with African shields, life-sized animals, totem poles in amongst a forest of palm trees, foliage and animal print swaging. Guests were entertained into the early hours by a set from the Brand New Heavies followed by DJ sets by Graeme Park and the legendary Peter Hook of Joy Division/New Order.
